How time fosters growth with faultless triumph.
I’ve always yearned for a Movado watch. But I was in college, on financial aid, with a sense of style that never would’ve made it past a couple hundred followers in today’s digital age of fashion. A Movado was my adult goal - an emblem of gratification that would come with a successful adult starter pack, not limited to jetsetting on a 5 star budget and designer shopping sprees with my girlfriends a la Sex and the City. Movado’s signature Museum dial, with the singular dot at noon, signified a watch of pure, luxurious expression - a beautiful piece to glance over as I would board my plane first-class or or jaunt from one Basel party to the next. Here I am 8 years later, sitting in the direct glow of the afternoon sun, typing these words over the quiet, walkable blocks of Melrose with my Verve almond milk latte by my side. I’m wearing a soft robe dress to somewhat feel the comforts of home but at the same time presentable for the outside world. A thoughtful gaze into the warm, prismatic rays that light up the leaves in my peripherals manifests nostalgia of a time when I would work morning to night, 7 days a week in my childhood bedroom, in front of a window overlooking a shared driveway of beige-toned garages and black asphalt. I was living back home in a muddy phase of unemployment versus self-employment. It was one of a thousand moments when I longed for more. |
Back in my breath in chilly winter ‘16, in my grown-up-kind-of-self-employed-outfit at a trendy cafe in Beverly Hills, I’m still doing the same but with just a change in scenery and circumstances. I’ve reached a paramount point in my adulthood where I feel my truest success - my thoughts are read and my soulful passion is shared through thousands of readers, like you. Though I’m not jet-setting on 5 star budgets or going on designer shopping sprees, I’m finding my thrills in discovering meaningful pieces for my home in my beautiful, quiet neighborhood, I’m exploring new parts of the world with inspirational friends, and I’m fully committing to a life-long romance with the greatest man I know. The values that defined my success had grown up just as I did through my pivotal 20s and it’ll only get better from here. But I did get my Movado.

I’m wearing Movado’s Esperanza watch - a style of which its elegant interpretation of their signature bracelet and Museum dial lends to a fresh perception of heritage combined with modern minimalism. The Esperanza decorates my wrist as a beautiful reminder of my journey to bliss. |
