An Old World discovery with Teva.
When you think of the Cote d’Azur, you dream of crisp rosé, striped beach umbrellas, mega yachts, and the crystal clear blues of the Mediterranean Sea. The classic vignette of the French Riviera beckons relaxation, indulgence, and all the envy-inducing beach bum selfies you can muster. But dig a little deeper and you’ll discover the nostalgic beauty that’s tucked away in the history of the coastline, in preserved Old Worlds that humbly co-exist with the new.
Èze is a picturesque village dating back to the medieval 12th century, perched on a tall rock overlooking the Mediterranean Sea on nearly all sides. Our beautiful villa in the hills of Èze was just a hard stone’s throw away from the Old World village and offered gorgeous, unobstructed views of our hiking destination. When the sun was low in the late afternoon, Kyle and I set out on our journey through the Riviera kind of woods (pine trees, remarkably flowery meadows, and full of hidden chateaus) to the top of Èze village.
I packed smart for the hike and wore my new Teva sandals that are from the recent Athleta x Derek Lam collaboration, which is such an amazing partnership because it’s the perfect blend of two minds for the active and urban lifestyles. The black and white design on the Original Universal is a sophisticated update, including chic, perforated leather, which makes it versatile for both daytime and adventure-time. I kept my outfit light and casual in a breathable ribbed tee and cropped pants for an active-slash-resort look and to effortlessly go from the dirt path to the luxe hotel bar for our hilltop reward: a refreshing drink and a stunning sunset view. I partnered with Teva during the hike to takeover their Snapchat account (@TevaFootwear) and showed Teva’s fans all the fun we were having! If you weren’t able to catch it this time, there will definitely be a next because our adventures are endless!
