My go-to.
Fig & Olive has quickly become my staple dining experience in both Los Angeles and newly opened Newport Beach, for their refreshing, lively atmosphere and for their rich, delectable variations of riviera-style cuisine. Fig & Olive's understated, elegant design makes you feel cozy at home in a Mediterranean villa. Towering olive trees hang enhance the high ceilings and green rosemary line the booths for an essence of dining in nature from where the chefs source their ingredients and inspiration.
While I've spent many dinners and nights with friends and family at Fig & Olive, it would be my first time having lunch with Kyle in their Melrose Place location last month at the start of spring. I envied the menu as I perused their extensive brunch and lunch offerings and I couldn't believe I've been missing out for so long. Tasty items such as Fig & Walnut Pancakes and South of France Poached Eggs with Salmon jumped out at me, but at the time I was already craving something hearty for the afternoon. However I didn't skip their Bread & Viennoiseries Assortment that included warm fluffy croissants - my favorite breakfast indulgence. I ordered the Branzino A La Pancha as my entree and Kyle received the Poached Eggs with Proscuitto and Mushroom from the brunch menu. We enjoyed an assortment of their famous Crostinis (that are a must for every start of the meal) and their Truffle Mushroom Croquette. If there's one thing you can expect them to perfect, it is the harmonious blend of their original Olive Oils into nearly every dish. Fig & Olive creates a unique signature experience by serving a trio sampling of their olive oils to every table, every occasion. Ever since I've started coming here, they've brought about a deeper appreciation of such a simple ingredient that I personally have taken for granted in my kitchen.
If you've followed my Instagram or snapchats, you can see I'm practically a loyal cardholder at Fig & Olive, so it truly is one of my go-to restaurants for a fun night out or a glamorous start to a new day. Check out either their Melrose Place location in Los Angeles or sit on the patio in their Newport Beach location in Fashion Island (both near some fabulous shopping for afterwards!).
I know about this place but never been there. It is in LA and I am in bay area. The food looks really good. I love sea food. I generally prefer cooking at home, just get the fish/lobster in bulk from Costco whenever i see a deal
