New York . 2

The next day in New York was an adventure through Manhattan.

On me: Red23 dress. Foley & Corinna bag. Kelsi Dagger shoes.
On Kyle: John Varvatos zip jacket, Combatant Gentleman chambray shirt, AG Jeans tie.

Lacoste threw us back to the streets with their highly electric and urban SS15 collection and Mara Hoffman made me miss the sweet rays of California sunshine with her vibrant kaleidoscope designs and tropical runway tunes. We met old friends and new from The Empire Hotel to Greenwich Village, and traversing two sides of the island never proved harder.

For the second and seemingly hottest day of my trip, I embraced comfort and print in this abstract zebra dress from Red23 to laud the urban jungle. As hot as it was, the dress was light enough to keep me cool in the shade of Lincoln Center and no matter what, it was worth bearing the heat in the cute ensemble. The design details - the back-to-basics crew neck and structurally loose fit - of this dress managed to turn this piece from an ordinary shirt dress to an elegant, framed design that beckoned an endless session of photo snapping on my way out of Lincoln Center. I knew I'd find some effortlessly cool pieces from Red23 to wear for New York because their brand is consistently refined and luxe and it's easy to mix and match different pieces from their collection without skipping a beat. I wish I had more photos from my outfit change for an adventurous night through the rain in Meatpacking, but this Instagram is the proof of a comfortable yet New York chic outfit from Red23 and sister line FiftweenTwenty that lets you cut lines and dive right in to the sweet, soothing arms of warm laughs and drinks.

Hours in New York go by too quickly and here again, another instance of getting from one end of the island to the other proved to be an impossible task. At this point while we're searching for the right subway entrance, Kyle and I unexpectedly gave ourselves a charming tour of Greenwich. Every corner and alleyway was a glimpse into an Old World vignette that inspired an improbable yearning to go back to yestercentury. There's something about the air in Greenwich that's more quiet and pure and the people saunter a little more slowly. Of all the places to be inspired in this urban jungle, Greenwich would be my muse.
