Last week I had the pleasure to work with Macy's and reigning Miss America, Nina Davuluri, for their Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration event!
On me: Calvin Klein dress, Alfani cardigan, Lauren Ralph Lauren necklace, all available at Macy's
May is the official APA Heritage Month and Macy's Cerritos kicked off the first official in-store celebration of a series that will occur throughout the nation over the month. I had the unique opportunity to host the fun event in tribute to Nina's rich culture and love of Bollywood and to interview her in front of a great audience. We learned about her talented background as a dedicated dancer and how she grew up rising above traditions and breaking barriers, one of many as we all know as being crowned the first Indian-American Miss America. She gave the audience and me great advice for reaching our goals: be fearless and be vulnerable. Be open to opportunities and reach for them and reach hard. Needless to say I left our conversation feeling very inspired by such an incredible beauty. The rest of the event was filled with fun Bollywood dancing, tasty Indian bites, and henna souvenirs. Thank you to everyone who came out to this one and for those in other parts of the nation, check out when Nina may be in your Macy's! Also, don't forget to visit Macy's and enter to win a Delta Vacations VIP trip for 2 to select destinations all over Asia, you never know ;)
