For Halloween this year, I trick-or-treated around my neighborhood with my little brother, dressed as the Greek God Hermes...in female form. I kinda tried. I loved putting a second use to these Shwings, that are originally fancy little wing add-ons to your sneakers. They were just too perfect in fulfilling one of my costume dreams. I had a bit of car trouble that night so I couldn't make it to LA to any oh so cool parties, but whatever, because I haven't been trick-or-treating since the 6th grade and it was really fun collecting a shit ton of candy with Captain America (my brother).
What were you guys for Halloween??

Your Halloween costume is so cute and original, Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought of being a female Hermes?
Overall, I think you did a really great job putting together your costume. The simple gray dress is super Grecian while your cute headpiece and sandals definitely make it clear that you can fly. Not to mention the cute touches that your jewelry adds!
What I have to say is my favorite part of your costume is that you are not exposing your body to the world! I can't tell you how many inappropriately dressed people I saw trick-or-treating or just on my Facebook feed. As someone so perfectly put it, this is a G-rated holiday people! The worst part is that some of the kids I gave candy to, who were probably no more than 10 or 12 years old, had a full face of makeup on and were wearing far less than I was. Lipstick, eyeshadow, the works, and fishnets, and essentially no straps.
Good grief.
Your Halloween costume was so much classier though! Way to rock it girl :) Glad you got tons of candy while hanging out with your brother. I would love to see a photo of the two of you guys together.
Me? For Halloween, I was just a stressed out student studying at home. Not a bad costume, right?
Hope you're having a wonderful day! <3
