nautical love


Who agrees with me that bright stripes are a sure sign that summer is right around the corner? This nautical inspiration instantly takes me back to combing the waves with my fingertips or drying beads of water on my skin under the shining sun. It's probably this influence that inspired me to spontaneously head to Venice Beach the very next day, which will show up on tomorrow's post. Now back to this Asos find; I love this dress for three things: stripes, sparkles, and drape. I've always shied away from stripes because I believed in the old myth that it would make me look wider. But if you look closely at this dress, Asos strategically designed the stripes at the sides to an angle to create the flattering shapely illusion. Only completes the recipe for a dress made for summer.
